Why choose massage?

A common misconception about massage is that it's often construed as a “luxury or treat”. When hearing this as a clinical massage therapist it always saddens me, as what I’m hearing is “in the scheme of life, my own physical and mental wellbeing is not a priority”. Why would looking after your physical and mental wellbeing be thought of as a luxury? Perplexing, as we all want/need a healthy functioning body. With the stresses and pressures of today’s lifestyle and these unprecedented times massage is a welcome beneficial component to our selfcare regime to help us reach that mind/body equilibrium. We need to acknowledge the importance of selfcare and make ourselves a priority. Why? Because when we function better physically and mentally it makes tackling life more achievable. Massage can be a great holistic tool for reducing stress, alleviating pain, improving your flexibility and helping aid your quality of sleep. So whether you’re a busy career person or someone who’s retired your well-being is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Mental benefits

Massage can stimulate the production of the body's natural endorphins which are involved in mood regulation, stress reduction and relaxation. The increase in endorphins such as serotonin and dopamine enables the client to experience a reduction in stress levels, improves mood, reduces anxiety and increases the feeling of wellness.
